Two! I can't believe it my baby is two. I made her cake the night before and she loved it. We decided to have a twinkle twinkle little star birthday since that is her favorite song and really one of the only things that she gets excited about. Her birthday fell on a Sunday this year so after church we prepared for her party while she napped. She was so excited when she woke up to the kitchen covered in stars. She kept squeeling and running around pointing to all the stars. The other kids put on a happy birhday cd with nursery rhymes songs on it and they danced and danced. After they were done dancing they played twinkle twinkle star (duck duck goose) and then musical stars (musical chairs). I think Sarah was the winner every time. It was really cute to see the other kids play with her so nicely. She loved all the attention. The neighbor girl showed up with a gift (we didn't even tell her about Sarah's party) so she joined in the fun and Nana was here as well. After the games she opened her presents. She got a zhu zhu pet (since she's not allowed to play with our real hamsters), some candy, silly bandz (so she won't bother the other kids by taking theirs), a baby doll, bubbles, a book, a baby carrier, and a box of play make up. She loved all her gifts but she was so cute with her play make-up. I wasn't sure if she would know what to do with it but she could hardly wait for daddy to take it out of its packaging so that she could apply some lipstick. She refers to it as "eyes, eyes". She is also very cute with her baby and carrier. They go everywhere with her. For dinner we had her favorite- mac 'n cheese and hot dogs and then it was time for cake! It was a white cake with sprinkles in it with real cream frosting- yum! Sarah is such a sweet girl even though she can be a handful. She has us read her a story every night and then she lays her head down on our shoulder while we cuddle and rock her a few minutes before we put her in to bed. I have to say that this is my favorite time of the day. Not only because she is going to bed and I don't have to chase after her and clean up after her anymore for the day but also because it is just the sweetest tenderest thing to rock your child each night. She has all of us wrapped around her little finger (which is pretty small). She loves to "go go" and has a fit if anyone goes out the door without her. Every morning she has us put on her "shoe shoes" so that she will be ready at any moment to go out. She likes to go for a "bike" which is actually a walk but the other kids are usually riding their bikes so that's what she calls it. She always pushes her toy or lawn mower on her "bikes" and loves to stop to pick every single dandelion. Her latest words are "cool" (which is how she refers to everything especially construction trucks), "ok" (she always asks after someone coughs or sneezes or cries), and "I need" (you can probably guess that this is used for everything that she wants). She is our special girl and we love her very much.
