Uncle Mike's visit

We were so happy to have Uncle Mike come and visit us over spring break. Sarah took to her English uncle very quickly. He got her out of her bed the first morning and she loved him from that minute on. It's funny how the kids just know that he is family and that is special. I caught them in a sweet moment here.


We tried to keep Mike busy while he was here. The first day after he arrived we went to Dayton to the airplane museum. It's three huge hangers full of all types of airplanes. It was kind of cool but a little exhausting to walk around. We had a little picnic outside before we went in and we played on the playground afterwards as well. I had to include the picture of how Jeremy entertained himself on the way home.

We had great weather all week so we took several walks. Hannah and Jeremy took advantage of their poor uncle who had a hard time telling them no when they pleaded for him to carry them on his shoulders. On each bridge Mike stopped and made Hannah answer a question from the troll under the bridge before she could pass. They ate up all the attention that Mike poured out on them.

On the day that Mike was to fly out we went to Magic Mountain to make the most of the afternoon since his flight wasn't until later in the day. We bought 2 hour passes so the kids got to go on the go carts numerous times with both daddy and Uncle Mike. They really liked riding with Uncle Mike since he was always the fastest. Sarah wasn't able to ride so we cheered them on from the side.

We also fit in close to 18 holes of putt-putt golf. The kids liked using Uncle Mike's feet as a backboard to help them get their balls into the hole. We had such a great week with Mike- it made us all very sad to have to say goodbye to him at the airport. It's hard to be so far away from family. I'm thankful for all of these great memories and that the children were able to stregthen their relationship with their uncle.
