Rachel's 10th Birthday

Rachel hit the double digits this year.
We started the day out with gifts.

She was really happy with her new bike (well new for her anyway). She loves having gears and she's adjusting to the handbrakes.

She really enjoyed putting her new gifts away in her own room. It is still very novel to her that she has her own room and that she can decorate it. Here she is displaying her rocks in the shadow box and you can see the vinyl union jack behind her that she got for her birthday.

A trip to Rita's for the birthday girl.

Rachel is definitely not long winded but she managed to get the candles out. We had a great day hanging out as a family and generally just celebrating the great girl that Rachel is.

On the weekend I took Rachel to Columbus for some birthday fun with friends from Granby. We went to the dollar theatre to see Toy Story 3 (which just about made me cry to sit there with my daughter who is growing up too fast and watch a movie about a child who is growing up and leaving home and his toys for college). After the movie we went to dairy queen.

After all the ice cream was finally gone we went to the park to play before we took her friends home and headed back to Dayton. Rachel has really missed her friends from Columbus so it was a lot of fun to see them back together for a day.
