My mom and dad celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary this year. We wanted to do something special to surprise them. It turns out that it is quite difficult to get that many people together and surprise my parents but it is possible. We had to change our plans many times but in the end we managed it. Dana was visiting with her kids from Virginia and my parents thought that she left for home when actually she went the other direction to Don's house where we all met. Cyndi got the cake and made a really cute shirt and tote bag for them that had all the kids pictures on. My dad's sister was in town visiting so they brought her to Don's house to visit with him but when they got there we were all there to surprise them. This was a few weeks before their actual anniversary. In addition to the surprise party my sister set up a card shower. She contacted everyone my parents knew and asked them to send them cards. My parents were shocked by how many kind cards they received. My parents are such a great example for me. Thanks for sticking it out through the thick and thin of life. I love you.
